New in the library: eight books from Sefaria's October update
SeferAI searches the Sefaria library, and we now bring in Sefaria's monthly update automatically. This month added eight books, now searchable in SeferAI's answers and podcasts:
- Rabbeinu Yonah on Berakhot (English): Rabbeinu Yonah of Gerona's 13th-century commentary on the Rif's Berakhot, the first tractate of the Talmud.
- Chidushei Aggadot on Makkot (English): the Maharsha's commentary on the non-legal passages of the Talmud, drawing on philosophy and Kabbalah.
- Malbim on Hosea (English): the 19th-century commentator who held that the Tanakh has no true synonyms or repetitions, each word carrying its own idea.
- Mikdash Melekh on the Zohar (English): the first published systematic commentary on the entire Zohar, compiled in the 18th century by the Moroccan kabbalist Rabbi Shalom Buzaglo.
- Ma'arekhet HaElokut (English): a 14th-century Spanish treatise on the fundamental theological questions of Kabbalah, of unknown authorship.
- Annotations of Maharatz Chajes on Mishneh Torah, Laws of Repentance (English): Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Chajes's 19th-century notes on Maimonides.
- Peninei Halakhah: Emunah UMitzvoteha and Peninei Halakhah: Giyur (Conversion) (Hebrew): two volumes of Rabbi Eliezer Melamed's contemporary, accessible presentation of practical halakhah.
Sefaria also updated 482 other texts this month, and those changes are in SeferAI too.
