Ultra-Premium is here: two hosts, flashcards and quizzes

In January we wrote that something big was coming, and that it would arrive in February. It took until September. This is what arrived, and all of it works today.

Two hosts instead of one narrator

An Ultra-Premium podcast is a conversation. Two hosts take your study apart the way study partners do: one asks, the other answers, and they push back on each other where the sources disagree. You choose the pairing, including two warm, gentle voices made for listening with children.

Flashcards for every answer

Open any answer in your library and choose Flashcards. About half a minute later you have a deck of twelve cards drawn only from that answer. Some ask a question. Others hide the key phrase of a sentence until you flip the card.

Here is a real one, from an answer about music and Creation:

> Question: What wordplay does the Talmud use in Berakhot 10a to reframe > our understanding of God as Creator? > > Answer: It plays on tzur (rock) and tzayyar (artist): "there is no > rock like our God" is reread as "there is no artist like our God". > Source: Berakhot 10a:22

Every card names the source it rests on, linked to that passage on Sefaria. Where a card rests on the answer itself rather than a named text, it says so instead of inventing a citation.

Quizzes that tell you why

Choose Quiz for eight questions: multiple choice with wrong answers that would tempt someone who half-read the material, and short answers to put in your own words. Each answer comes with a one-line explanation and its source.

Print them

Flashcards and quizzes print. Cards come out as a cut-out sheet, with the question on one side and the answer on the other, so each strip folds into a card. A quiz prints with its answer key on a separate page, so it can go on the Shabbat table or be handed round a class without a screen in sight.

Everything searches a bigger library now

Ultra-Premium sits on the index we rebuilt this week: 3.8 million passages in English and Hebrew, where there used to be 156,000. The post just below this one explains what that changed.
