SeferAI now speaks six languages: English, Hebrew, German, Russian, Ukrainian and French
The whole of SeferAI can now be used in English, Hebrew, German, Russian, Ukrainian or French. Choose your language at the top of the page - EN, עב, DE, RU, UA or FR - and the menus, buttons, messages and the weekly Torah calendar follow. Ask a question in any of the six, and the answer comes back in that language.
Ukrainian, in Ukrainian
Ukrainian readers get SeferAI in their own language: its own interface, and answers written in Ukrainian - never Russian as a stand-in.
French, with Sefaria's French translations
French readers get the interface and answers in French. Sefaria also publishes French translations of many texts, and SeferAI now searches them: French answers quote them directly, as German answers quote Sefaria's German translations.
The sources stay the sources
The library is Sefaria's: Hebrew and Aramaic originals, most with English translations, and about 158,000 passages of Sefaria's published German translations. Whatever language you ask in, SeferAI turns your question into the words the sources themselves use, finds the passages, and writes its answer around them in your language, with every citation linked to the text.
You always know when you are reading a translation
An answer in German, Russian, Ukrainian or French begins with a short note saying which quotations were translated by AI. Quotations from Sefaria's own German and French translations are marked as such. Sefaria has almost no Russian or Ukrainian translations, so there every quotation is translated, and the note says so. SeferAI exists to bring you as close to the sources as possible, and that means knowing when a translation stands in between.
